1.Management of crew for improved utilization by reducing wastage on account of long hours, Pre-Departure Detention (PDD) etc.
2.Timely response to loco failures on line to reduce detention of trains.
3.Safe operation of trains by providing adequate rest to crew, reducing long hours cases and imparting training to staff in time.
4.Reduction in Overtime hours of staff.
5.Strengthening training facility for staff & supervisors at Diesel Traction Training Center (DTTC), Motibagh.
6.Improvement of Running Room, Crew lobbies and Diesel Traction Training Center (DTTC), Motibagh.
i.Mobile gang have been formed at C&W/Itwari, Balaghat and Dongargarh to attend the rejected wagons on trains at loading points and so make this wagon loadable. In the present year there is average rejection of 32 wagons per month visa-a-vis 103 wagons per month previous year. In order to further strengthen this mobile gangs open tender has been called for providing transport and welding facilities on wheels.
ii.One hand crane available in division for loading and transportation of matching wheels set to the site to make fit sick wagons on account of hot axle/wheel defect.
iii.Mechanical repairs like CC pad, Elastomaric pad, door replacement, floor repairs, spring changing etc. and other welding repairs are being done on train in-situ condition without requiring in detachment of wagons and thus minimizing in-effective.
iv.The sick wagons at sidings are also attended on priority bases through mobilization of resources by truck and mobile gang. It is ensured that, these sick wagons are attended immediately in the siding.
v.Sick marked wagons are attended on priority basis as far as possible on same day if placement given at sick line.
vi.Counseling and training of staff at DTTC/MIB & IOH Shed/Gondia and ensuring their trainings.
vii.Rolling-in-examination of all goods and coaching trains at DGG and Gondia and also of terminal trains at Itwari, Balaghat, Chandafort to reduced sectional failures.
viii.Temperature measuring gun is provided to all C&W depots, to measure temperature of axle boxes of all terminating trains.
ix.The failure reports with details are invariably intimated to concerned depot to take suitable corrective action.
x.Investigation of failed CBC components through CMT are undertaken to take corrective action with intimation to concerned examination depot.
xi.Draining out of AR pressure is being ensured on every trip examination of coaching train.
xii.The air drier at Gondia depot has been installed to minimize the cases of malfunctioning of DV and thus brake binding.
xiii.Printed Registers for uniform record keeping has been introduced in all depots for record keeping which also help in proper analysis of failures.
xiv.Zero missing fitting concept has been implemented in coaching depot and this has help in improving safety apart from improving reliability.
xv.Ensuring Availability of material with close liasoning with Stores department as on date all required material for maintenance are available.
